Bassem Abdelmalak is figurative artist who works in oils and other mediums. His paintings have elements of religious iconography as well as other folk influences. He continues to exhibit his work in group and solo shows in the Toronto area. Bassem also paints traditional and modern icons for a living and has works in churches in Toronto and London. Although he studied at the Ontario College of Art for four years, he learned iconography by himself.
